What Happens Next

  • You have made the payment in full below.
  • You have submitted your work within the guidelines set out in your agreement.

Early Chapters Consultation

The Early Chapters Consultation focuses on reviewing your first three chapters to identify any foundational craft issues before they affect the rest of your manuscript.

This is not a plot consultation. Instead, this assessment is designed to strengthen your technical storytelling skills and help you develop a solid writing foundation.

Up to 5,000 words:

5,001 – 7,000 words:

7,001 – 9,000 words:

What feedback will bring provided?

The feedback I will provide will greatly depend on your work, and although the below list is not exhaustive, you will receive detailed feedback on:

  • Opening hook effectiveness
  • Narrative clarity and flow
  • Character introduction
  • Dialogue realism
  • Sentence structure and readability
  • Point of view (POV) consistency
  • Show vs. tell
  • Description control
  • Frame of reference
  • Pacing at paragraph and sentence level
  • Overwriting and underwriting habits

I’ll cover the things that are working well, which areas of your work need improvement or development, why addressing any issues matter, practical suggestions to fix it. You will be able to apply this craft guidance to the rest of your book.
